![]() ![]() I created a blog post on my website with detailed instructions and links to the updates you'll need to download. The COA is still attached to each machine.ĮDIT: I should also mention, I slip streamed the drivers for the Dell desktops into my custom XP install CD as well. Only XP is installed on these machines, nothing else, with the exception of Microsoft Security Essentials and its fully patched. I had 14 total desktops and after doing 1 desktop a few months ago and running into so many problems with XP updates, when I discovered it was the update agent, and that I still have 13 more desktops to go, I simplified the process when installing XP, making my own custom XP install CD's using nLite. Now after a Dell desktop has had XP re installed, it takes about 30 minutes to get current with XP updates and its done. ![]() ![]() It is no different than just using the plain old Dell XP CD, only my CD speeds up the process. And when used on Dell desktops, it never asks for the key. They are Dell computers, I copied the Dell XP restore CD (that had XP SP3 already on it) and slip streamed IE 8, the new update agent and various other updates. You gave them to employees for personal use? If so, how did you license them? ![]()
